Student Spotlight






Arielle Parker, Marketing Intern

The Study is excited to announce Brett Fountain as our Student Spotlight of the Month! Brett has been a MA 162 peer tutor since the fall of 2011. Being highly self-motivated, Brett plans on attending law school after he graduates in May of 2014. Read on and learn more about what makes this Study employee so unique!

Major: Finance, Spanish minor

Clubs/Extra Curricular Activities: Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, Peer Tutor at The Study, Kentucky Men's Club Volleyball, Sigma Alpha Lambda honors and leadership society, L.E.A.D. in Gatton College.

Hobbies: Eating, playing volleyball, speaking Spanish, scuba diving

Favorite Food: Everything included in a traditional thanksgiving dinner, plus pizza 

Music: Folk music and real country music 

Favorite Movie: Dodgeball, District 9, Zombieland 

Pet: My dog Riley and my cats, named Fat Cat and Girl Cat 

Favorite Restaurant: A tie between TGI Friday's and Cheesecake Factory

Best Place Traveled To: Spain 

Most Daring Moment: Skydiving 

Why UK: Even though I'm from California, I have over 25 relatives that live within an hour from UK, and two of my cousins are also juniors here at UK with me. 

Favorite Class at UK: SPA 211: Conversational Spanish

Favorite Place to Study: In my living room listening to John Mayer Pandora 

Favorite Teacher: My high school Spanish teacher, SeƱora DeHope

Advice to Others at UK: Take advantage of every opportunity you are given so that you don't look back on your college years and wish you had done more.

Life After College: Attend law school and ultimately travel to every continent (excluding Antarctica)

Why Does He Like Working at The Study: It’s just a great place to work. You learn so much by helping others learn, and it's always rewarding when a student leaves The Study more prepared and with a better understanding than when they first came in.
